Most Romantic Restaurants In The World

The World's Top 5 Most Romantic Restaurants

BY: Glenn and Maria Davis

No matter what the occasion, these fine dining establishments top the list for being the most romantic in the world.

1. Waterlot Inn (Southampton, Bermuda)
Built in 1670, this tops our list as the most romantic restaurant in the world. Owned and operated by the Fairmont Southampton Princess, The Waterlot has been a Bermuda Icon for centuries. Arrive by water for the ultimate romantic experience of a lifetime.

2. Il Cielo (Beverly Hills, California)
With beautiful ceiling murals and a lush outdoor gardens section, this comes in second on our list. This superb restaurant whispers "Love" over and over.

3. Chef Mavro (Honolulu, Hawaii)
Coming in at number three, Chef Mavro is a highly intimate and peaceful dining experience. No children here, in fact, children under 5 are not permitted in the restaurant.

4. Cafe Matisse (Nassau, The Bahamas)
A gorgeous veranda and courtyard grace this restaurant-in-paradise. A private room is available for total serenity.

5. Hotel Portmeirion (Minffordd, Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd)
The views at the Restaurant at the Hotel Portmeirion are beyond spectacular. This made our Top 5 List because you feel like you are in a world of your own and time stood still.

We've Come A Long Way Baby

30 years ago, the Music and Recording Industry saw a huge spike in it's technological offerings. Here is a list of some of the notable game-changers from that time period:

ARTISTS X-PONENT ENGINEERING KT-1000
The KT-1000 is a programmable digital metronome synchronizer that sported up to 50 user-programmable tempos. Tempos could be entered in either BPM or FPB formats. There were four frame formats; 24 (film), 25 (EBU), 29.97 (NTSC Drop Frame), and 30 NTSC. In the first quarter of 1985, an add-on RS-232C interface buss became available so that the user's program could be derived from a computer, or sent to a VDU or printer.

SOLID STATE LOGIC SL5000M
This SSL Console was specifically designed to handle (the then new) Multi-channel Television Sound transmission standard. The desk could be configured with up to four independent stereo outputs, and eight stereo subgroups, which could be set to handle any combination of international sound split feeds, mix minuses, and stereo plus SAP mixes. Combining the latest developments in thin and thick-film technology, SSL developed a new series of hybrid chips that replaced the earlier "op-amp plus components" type of subassembly which reduced the size, weight, complexity and power consumption of the system's basic building blocks. A single SSL Hybrid Chip provided a totally balanced and ground-free output capable of driving a 600 ohm load at +28 dBm while taking up an area of only 40 x 15 x 5mm.

LINN 9000
Roger Linn unveiled the first product to integrate a MIDI-compatible keyboard recorder and digital drum machine in one unit. Designed around an IBM PC Computer, options included a plug-in audio sample board, a 3-1/2" Sony disk drive and a SMPTE circuit board.

NEW ENGLAND DIGITAL ENHANCED SYNCLAVIER KEYBOARD
NED began shipping as standard with every SDMS a 76 note keyboard that offered velocity and independent aftertouch. The system also featured 32 track digital recording memory, pitch and mod wheels, optional breath control and MIDI and SMPTE provisions. Users had a greatly expanded real-time effects section that allowed up to 192 different patches to be created.

ENSONIQ MIRAGE
Coming in at about a third the price of an E2, Mirage could sample at 4, 8 and 15 kHz. The on-board sequencer could record modulation, pitch bend, velocity, and sustain pedal. A 3-1/2" Sony drive provided storage and there was optional software to interface with the Apple Macintosh for on-screen editing.

E-Mu SYSTEMS EMULATOR II
The E2 was a low-cost alternative to NED and Fairlight CMI Systems. The unit came with up to 17.6 seconds of sampling time at 16.5 kHz. The keyboard could be divided as many times as a user wanted and was MIDI compatible. Waveform control was achieved via four panel sliders that could be assigned to parameters found on any analog synth such as VCA ADSR, filter, filter ADSR and so on. Similar to Oberheim Systems units being paired to the DSX and DX, E2 was paired nicely to the SP12.

What To Post On Social Media

Having been "Online" long before there was a World Wide Web, it is interesting to note that Social Media has been around way before there was Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Google Plus, Instagram, Vine, Tumblr, Etc., etc..... We used to have chat rooms and BBS. These were early forms of "Social Media" where people could interact, connect and network. In the early days of being "Online" we would often have parties and gatherings at rented VFW's, clubs and other venues, so we all had a chance to put a face to a name. It was great fun and a fantastic way to meet new people. Valuable personal and business relationships were often formed as a result of these activities.

Fast forward to the present: Just about everyone out there now has some device to get "Online" and uses some sort of Social Media Venue that enables others to interact with them and vice versa. If you query any search engine with "What to post on social media" you find a scant result of vague and generic content which boils down to "Don't talk about yourself and post things that can help others" but the problem is, there is never anything specific. On the other hand, there is a vast plethora of information on what NOT to post. The problem with the theories about what NOT to post have exceptions as does just about anything in life.

Posting "Shameless Self-Promotion" is an example of a "No-no" but if you look closer, these same people always seem to be promoting something or someone themselves and it is usually to their exclusive benefit. Through the magic of the Online World, those with a keen eye and sharp intellect can easily see through the smoke and mirrors. The fact is, we are all different, yet very similar. We all know what TV and Radio is. We all know what a Movie or a Book is. We all eat and drink. The problem is Susie loves to eat lobster, but Ron despises it. Jane loves the latest pop sensation while at the same time, Joe cringes at the mere thought. Becky loves Batman but Bob likes Superman more.

The truth is, there is no perfect "What to post" or "What to share" or "What to like" online because you will always offend someone. You can however, do things that will offend a smaller percentage of people if you step back and carefully look at what others are doing. This brings me back to the "What NOT to post" subject; to which again, there is already a gigantic grab-bag of information out there regarding this, and if you look through a lot of it, you will see a reoccurring theme.

In life, we are always trying to sell ourselves, products and ideas in some way, shape or form and there is no getting around it unless you live alone on a remote spit of sand with a palm tree or two. The best anyone can do is try your best to stay neutral if you don't like something (remember that old saying: If you don't have something good to say, don't say anything at all)

If you liked this and thought it was either useful, helpful, enjoyable or combination thereof, you may want to read my book entitled "How to win at everything and live forever while simultaneously making the Universe a better place"

The Answer

Shakespeare

As a result of widespread global corruption and greed (which I consider to be a form of mental illness) I am officially revising Shakespeare's "All the world's a stage" quote to fit modern times.

"The world is a circus with only a handful of patient patrons"
